Attention brides! Garter and bouquet tossing are things of the past! New trends make for new and exciting weddings.

The long lasting tradition of tossing the bouquet and garter are slowing falling by the wayside, says NBC. This tradition is now being replaced by such things as groom and sister dances and bride and brother dances.

Other wedding trends that are on the rise are such things as candy spreads and bourbon bars. Complex designs on cakes are replacing the plain white traditional ones of the past.

Look for even more bright and colorful ties and socks on the men and more two color bridesmaid dresses.

A fairly new trend that looks like it's here to stay is, believe it or not, male engagement ring!

DJ Services and pricing

Disc Jockey rates vary based on talent, experience, emcee ability, service, coordination, equipment needed, music knowledge, mixing ability and personality.

Rates for the DJ industry vary greatly, ranging from $350.00 to over $5,000.00 with an average of $1,200.00 for a 4 hour booking. The best price is not always the best deal, especially if you are planning a wedding. As a matter of fact, surveys conclude that nearly 100% of brides would have spent more money on their entertainment and made it their #1 priority in hindsight.

A full-service disc jockey company will normally invest 12 to 30 hours to your special event but it may appear that you are only paying for "4 hours". Consultations, music purchasing & editing, preparation, set-up and tear-down, education and other business related endeavors add up to the overall success of your special occasion.

May 21, 2011 Jen & Craig's Wedding

Double Platinum Celebrations made their debut at the Lewiston Ramada Inn to celebrate with Jen & Craig in grand style. The staff were very accommodating and made DJ Pat feel right at home.Guests enjoyed a nice mix of 70's and 80's classics while waiting for the Wedding Party Grand Entrance. " Signed, sealed, delivered" by Stevie Wonder welcomed in the wedding party and " Tik Tok " by Kesha, was the song for the newlyweds.A custom mix of contemporary song snippets made up their first dance.

Jen & Craig danced the night away with their guests ending the night with " Dirty Bit " by the Black Eyed Peas.

May 7th, 2011 Kristen & Dave's Wedding

Wedding season kicked off with a bang at the Portland Country Club in Falmouth, Maine.

The ceremony took place upstairs on the top deck overlooking the green.

Following a Rat Pack style cocktail hour wedding introductions ensued.

The bridal party was introduced to " Tony's theme from Scar face ." A slideshow followed and then the newlyweds were introduced to " It just comes natural " by George Strait and then right into their first dance ," Give in to me " by Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester.

2011 Was an Amazing Wedding Season for Double Platinum Celebrations !

As 2011 is winding down and we are getting a moment to catch our breath, we are very grateful for the wonderful clients ( now friends ) we have had the pleasure working for. We are getting ready for an even busier 2012 ( hard to imagine busier than 2011 as we had another record year ) and will be back to more frequesnt updates as well as an in depth recap of our tremendous 2011 Wedding season ! The online traffic we are experiencing is setting record levels. We have been busy listening to potential client's visions of their wedding days and explaining our customized services. Some book us immediately, some keep price -shopping, but all are appreciative of the time we take to chat with them directly about their special wedding day.

2011 Season off to a Great Start !

Well it is January , and the brides are active and looking for quality vendors. We have been very busy meeting brides and scheduling consultations . We are happy to note that quite a few clients are people who were in attendance at previous weddings that we have done ! While we do a healthy amount of advertising ( print media, email campaigns, social networking, blogging , bridal show, and expos ) the best advertising is word of mouth and having someone see you in action first hand. Thank you for remembering us !

Amanda & Andrew's Wedding June 12th, 2010

Amanda & Andrew were wed at The Agassiz Village in Poland. It was a beautiful day at this historic facility. The function room was a huge open wooden ballroom with balconies on both sides. Amanda's parents were cleints of mine 2 years ago and when Amanda got engaged, her mother Norma wasted no time in boooking me a 18 months in advance to ensure I was available !

Immediatedly following the Ceremony, Introductions began to a mixed medley of " Livin' on a Prayer," " Bad Boys Theme ," " I'm Too Sexy ," and for the Bride & Groom " Here in this Moment ." Their first dance immediately folowed with " When I Say I Do."

The decorations were a stunning blue and white theme complete with two ice sculptered swans on the appetizer table.
" Grow Old With You " was selected for the cake song and then the formal songs began ;
Amanda danced with her father Bruce to " Tough Little Boys " and then there was a special dance where the Groom, Andrew danced with his Mother- in law, Norma and the Bride ; Amanda danced with her Step -Father, Chris and her Father- in law; David to " My Wish ."
A rousing version of the " Time Warp " was played complete with family members donning their shades .

The Last Dance was " Lost in this Moment ."
