As professional Djs, all of us at Double Platinum Celebrations pride ourselves in providing exceptional service at every single function where we're hired to perform. When it comes to weddings, we pride ourselves in making sure your first dance, dinner music, bouquet and garter toss, etc. go off without a (musical) hitch! And of course, what wedding would be complete without dancing? This is where the bridal party and the guests get to show each other (and sometimes themselves) what they're made of!

But let's say a guest really wants to hear That Song – the one they know will get everybody even more pumped than they already are. Should they approach the DJ?

DJ may have seemed a little less-than-receptive to any guest requests. It can be a little jarring to approach a stranger and ask them a question, regardless of the setting. Your Wedding DJ: A big bang for your buck

If somebody were to ask you what you thought you would spend out of your total wedding budget on a DJ, what would you guess? 10%? 15%? Even more?

A recent study released by TheKnot.com surveyed around 13,000 brides to track wedding trends for the year ending 2013. And what did the study find? Nothing new here: weddings are expensive and getting more so every year! Last year, an average wedding ran a price tag of nearly $30,000.

But an even more interesting number emerged: 3.5. That's the amount of the average budgeted wedding that is allocated for DJ services. 3.5%!

Of course, every wedding is different, and the percentage of your wedding budget spent on a DJ may be higher or lower.. But that low number does raise two good points:

1. 3.5% is considerably lower than one might think when looking at the price tag of any vendor. After all, the study also found that videographers, wedding planners, florists, photographers, and wedding bands all had significantly heftier price tags than wedding Djs. And...
2. For such a low price, a wedding DJ can have a huge impact on your special day, so while you may be getting a lot for a noticeably smaller cost, are you getting what you paid for?

October 15, 2011 Erica & Jordan's Wedding

Erica & Jordan celebrated with Maine DJ Patrick Daniels at Camp Ketca, where DJ Pat has been a preferred vendor there for several years.

 The Wedding Party was introduced to " Faithfully " by Journey , and the Best Man, was introduced to " I'm too sexy " by Right Said Fred , and the newlyweds entered to " From this Moment " by Shania Twain.

 The First Dance was " When you got a Good thing " by Lady Antebellum.

May 29th, 2011 Kristina & Ted's Wedding

On a recommendation from a previous client in 2010, Ted & Kristina sought out the services of Double Platinum Celebrations DJ Services for their wedding at the historic Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, Mass.

The Wedding party was introduced to " Glad all over " by the Dave Clark Five. The Bride & Groom were introduced to "At Last " by Etta James.

Lithuanian customs followed and the Bride & Groom danced their First Dance to " Wonderful World " by Louis Armstrong.

May 21, 2011 Jen & Craig's Wedding

Double Platinum Celebrations made their debut at the Lewiston Ramada Inn to celebrate with Jen & Craig in grand style. The staff were very accommodating and made DJ Pat feel right at home.Guests enjoyed a nice mix of 70's and 80's classics while waiting for the Wedding Party Grand Entrance. " Signed, sealed, delivered" by Stevie Wonder welcomed in the wedding party and " Tik Tok " by Kesha, was the song for the newlyweds.A custom mix of contemporary song snippets made up their first dance.

Jen & Craig danced the night away with their guests ending the night with " Dirty Bit " by the Black Eyed Peas.

2011 Was an Amazing Wedding Season for Double Platinum Celebrations !

As 2011 is winding down and we are getting a moment to catch our breath, we are very grateful for the wonderful clients ( now friends ) we have had the pleasure working for. The online traffic we are experiencing is setting record levels. We have been busy listening to potential client's visions of their wedding days and explaining our customized services. Some book us immediately, some keep price -shopping, but all are appreciative of the time we take to chat with them directly about their special wedding day.

Online traffic and wedding inquiries set record for January 2011

The brides are definately active out there this season trying to secure their wedding entertainment. Double Platinum Celebrations has experienced a tremendous amount of inquires in the past 30 days. We attribute that to word of mouth referrals, clients ; past and present who recommend our services, well placed advertising, vendor recommendations , and the relationships we have with industry professionals. We personally respond to each and every inquiry no later than 24 hours from when we receive it. 90% of the time we are able to respond same day if not within the hour when we receive it. We love chatting with folks about their wedding day, whether it's online or on the phone.
